Norwalk

The City of Norwalk is dedicated to preserving one of the most important resources in California – Water. Given the recent water drought declaration by the State, the Norwalk City Council passed Resolution No. 08-45 at its July 15th meeting, requesting and encouraging water conservation practices by all water users within the City of Norwalk.  No one can predict how long or severe this drought will be, but we do know that unless we make better choices about our water use, the long-term water situation is likely to worsen.

Please note that Resolution No. 08-45 discourages the following activities:

a.                 Use of a hose to wash walkways, driveways, parking areas, and other hard surfaces;

b.                 Cleaning, filling, or refilling non re-circulating decorative fountains;

c.                  Serving water to restaurant customers unless expressly requested;

d.                 Watering lawns and landscape areas between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.; and

e.                 Allowing leaks to continue without repairs.

It also urges water users to consider the installation of water efficient plumbing fixtures and the use of drought-tolerant landscaping whenever possible. Follow the links below to helpful resources.
